DRAGAN MARTINOVIC
Dragan Martinović was born in Bogatic, in Mavča, in 1957. years. He grew up next to his father Milivoj, a theater director and painter, and Milić from Mačva, the founder of the Mačva painting school. He started painting in his early childhood and at the age of fifteen he became a member of the aforementioned group. Already at the age of seventeen, he exhibited for the first time independently in Šabac, in 1975. years. 1976. In 2010, he entered the Academy of Fine Arts in Belgrade, where he completed his basic and postgraduate studies in the class of Professor Zoran Petrović. Immediately after completing his studies, he starts intensive exhibition activity.
He exhibited as a group at more than two hundred exhibitions in the country and abroad. He exhibited independently over 140 times in the country and abroad (Sabac, Belgrade, Sremska Mitrovica, Novi Sad, Kragujevac, Opatija, Subotica, New York, Hong Kong, Munich, Paris, Be, Athens, Milan…)
He is a participant of many colonies and is the winner of several important awards such as: Srem and Vojvodina salon awards, Culture Award, “Mina Karadžić” Annual Award, “Petar Lubarda” Foundation Grand Award…
He is a member of the oldest painting group in the Balkans – “Lada”, the Association of Fine Artists (ULUS) since 1981. year, ULB since 1983. of the Association of fine artists “Sirmium” since 1983. He is the founder and ideological leader of the Association of Visual Artists “ESNAF”, the founder of the movement “I love Mitrovica”, the Society for the Culture of Living “OKO”, “Pečat” from Bogatić and “Reč” from Prijepolje. He is the founder of the Order of Knights Templar of Serbia. He is a member of the Grand National Lodge of Serbia and the current Grand Master.
Since 1983 in 2010, he is engaged in pedagogical work, which will culminate in the establishment of the Academy of Classical Painting. 2008. In 2010, he was appointed dean of the Academy of Classical Painting of the University “Edukons” Novi Sad.
He lives and works in Sremska Mitrovica, and his works are represented in many museum and private collections around the globe.
